It can be cheaper on the TFCs to book one-ways, or it can be more expensive [UK-USA would be an example of this as the TFCs are far higher in the US]. If you're booking at the opening of the booking window you can book the one-way return and ring up to have the voucher applied to the return which will result in the refund of half the Avios. As I mentioned you would need enough Avios to book at full price initially to avail of this option. Additionally I'm not sure it's possible to do this if you're booking after T-355, since you could have rung up to book it as one - but the answers to this and more could have been found in the 241 thread.
