Question Seeking suggestions and pro-tips on negotiating a personal long term rate

I'm starting my third week of a stay and it will likely be a total of 4 to 6 weeks, and then a lot of stays of a week or more coming up over the next year.

I'm not with a company and I'm traveling on personal urgent matters. I'd like to ask for a flexible rate that I can book online (like with a code) or just call and ask for.

I'm open to thoughts and suggestions on who to approach (GM? Sales manager?) and what is a reasonable reduction to ask for.

Some more details below, including how a nice front desk agent hooked me up with a lower rate already, but I think I can do better, and I'd like it to be more "official".

After the first week I had been monitoring rate fluctuations online, and I booked a better average rate for the next week. I went down to tell the front desk person I'd be staying over but checking in on a new reservation starting tomorrow with a lower average rate.

Unsolicited they said, "I can just adjust the rate going forward to the first night rate on the new reservation [which is well lower than the average rate I had been paying and was going to pay for the next week] and then we can extend it when we want to." We've now extended it to Oct 3.

That really opened my eyes to how flexible they can be. And though this rate can be extended, only that front desk agent knows how or is willing to do it for me.

They are a kind and helpful person but I'd also like to not have to always catch them on their shift. And I also know that many nights there are even lower rates than this.
