Getting out of l'aéroport would be the least of my worries. Have you thought about afternoon rush hour on the roads ?

To answer your question : contrôle passeport is not busy that time of day and you can use PARAFE (automated gates). Depending on how fast the livraison bagages is, you could be at the hire car counter in less than an hour.
