I’m not bashing FHR. I’m sure it works fine for people who pay cash for expensive rooms at higher end hotels.
But many of us do not. We use points/certs at high end properties. We get free breakfast thru status and half the time don’t even use it.
So FHR is not worthless to me but it’s a PITA. I have to find a property that meets my budget and use the credit before it expires.
By contrast the $200 airline credit is easy peasy - I can buy UA scrip that I use at my leisure. The Chase $300 travel credit is even easier.
I’m not sure why people feel the need to try to argue about the value of perks. They are what they are and everyone has their own take.
