Had to cancel two flights booked on the platform, and getting the AA travel credits I'm owed has been nothing short of a nightmare. AA (I think correctly?) says Citi Travel has to deal with it, and Citi Travel keeps just telling me that AA should issue the travel credits and to go pester them
After
three weeks of trying to get my flight credits for a singular cancelled flight:
1. Citi Travel insisted that my Strata Elite was "not connected" to my Citi Travel account, despite it very clearly being booked with my Strata Elite and showing like so on my statement and Citi Travel online account
2. I spent hours playing phone tag between card services and Citi Travel, because Citi Travel insisted nothing was connected, and card services (correctly) said it's connected and that it would make no sense for it not to be
3. Citi Travel told me they will give me the flight credit for American, but only if I call to book, and I can't use it on the portal, and they also cannot confirm the amount for the flight credit. If I want to book for my companion who was the other ticket, I have to follow the same process.
Never again booking on Citi Travel for anything
