6E and AI both state 7kg limit on carryon bags. Having flown several 6E and AI domestic sectors in the last year I don’t see any evidence of this being enforced. However, that’s not a big sample - have others experienced strict enforcement of that limit? If so, how was it manifested? Are visibly large or heavy bags checked?

I have a crazy itinerary business trip round India coming up with visits to multiple cities and flights most evenings. Keen to keep light and fast but it will be impossible to stay under 7kg… I’d have a carryon backpack well within size limits, but likely nearer 9kg… am I likely to be found out? If so what are the outcomes - big fee? Forced to put into hold?
