IME Waymo is always higher even after factoring a tip. It is also much slower both in time to pickup and also routing (because I can instruct Uber/Lyft drivers on the best routing).
As a data point my child took Waymo from Fish Wharf to the Haight and then Haight to Emb. BART station and it was $40 each time. No way a taxi would cost that much and Uber/Lyft is cheaper as well.

Until recently my experience was the opposite, Lyft was usually cheaper, faster to pickup and better quality drivers. But no longer. I attribute this to the Chase partnership as that's when pricing started to rise. But more likely it is just the algorhythm. In any case I generally favor Uber now.
