BA staff in upperdeck said BA lounge is expected to reopen early November until the refurb starts early next year.
All the hospitality staff are redeployed in other lounges for the time being so nobody in the great team is out of work.
That's a bit disappointing that there's no guarantee for entry into the specified lounge, but understandable given that the Lomond Lounge is not huge. It's just not a great experience that you potentially had to queue twice for lounges, then possibly a third time for a restaurant/bar. £30 is also a bit stingy as that doesn't go very far in the airport facilities - roughly 1 modest meal and 1 drink.
Did you happen to use the check-in desk, and if so was there any mention of the lounge arrangement at that point?
Still, good to hear that the staff could be redeployed.
