Plan:

Today I book wife and daughter on an outbound and return in November. We use her points for both RT tickets.

Early November, my wife earns CP status. We designate me as the companion, and I get the almost-free RT ticket on the flights I'm booking today for wife and daughter.

This works, right? Thanks.

And on top of all that, after the $4,000 spend, you're at 114,000 points for purposes of Companion Pass status. Just 21,000 to go for almost half-price every time you travel with your regulars.

As someone noted above, this seems unlikely to last. But at least we'll be good through the end of 2026.

Assuming she has 135K CPQP and gets companion pass before your flights that's how it works.

There also has to be a seat available on the flight.

The points 100K points from the credit card won't post until the statement closes where you pass the $4k spend.

The $99 card also comes with 2 free EBCI when charged to the card
