Yes I understand that, BUT it does not explain why when I called the AerClub number (as directed on the AL site +353 1 562 1043) they told me that they could not change or cancel the flight and directed me to call AL at 01 761 7834; I called several times trying to get through to that AL number only to be left on hold and it was only this morning that I actually had time to go on hold, and then I was redirected back to AerClub!
The whole thing is a fiasco with nobody wanting to take responsibility and being fawned off by agents using bot like corporate speak, especially in Aer Club,,,,, in fact I'm beginning to wonder did I actually speak to any real people at all!!
Thoroughly unsatisfactory, but then again more and more interactions with corporations of all hues are similar these days, the failure to be able to speak with real people who actually can take responsibility for engaging properly with the customer is a shame but its been a growing trend for a long time now
