There was definitely a curtain on CDG-NCE a few weeks ago. In fact, a lady who was in J complained because the curtain had been placed incorrectly and her row was left in Y. The crew promptly moved the curtain back and it was closed during the (short) flight.
on my last flight to DUS, the E90 J cabin had still the red headrest.
However the curtains had been completely removed. The headrest was also the sole cabin distinction between J and Y as almost all J PAX had a neighbor on the adjacent seat
