What you dont really say is why you are looking at others. Are you not happy with IHG? What are you hoping to get out of a different chain?
One reason is that ICs are either nonexistent or have recently closed in some of the destinations I have visited/ continue to frequent in the past two or so years. (One of two in Seoul closed; Saigon closed; Manila long gone; now Singapore reduced to 1 with the remaining option with tiny rooms.) I am not sure if this is an indication of a weakening brand or they are pivoting their focus towards luxury leisure travelers. They will soon open one in Taipei but it is far away from the city!
Overall, I do like IC. It is a good hotel brand, with great amenities although I have noticed that in the past year or so, standards of amenities have not been as consistent.

Hyatt is the best - once you are a Globalist - but to do 60 nights per year you often need to choose your travel destinations based on the availability of a Hyatt. (rather than just going where you want) I haven't found anything from a major chain that beats the Globalist treatment at PH and GH hotels on offer in Asia...
I have never met the night requirement from IHG, but have always exceeded the points requirement to be Diamond.
Agree Hyatt is best but its hard work due to footprint. If IHG works for you and you are a Diamond AMB staying at IC's I am not sure you will find greener fields
Ever since Marriott Corporate started allowing people get Platinum for $25, the elite treatment at their Asian properties has degraded.

Are Hyatt base points earned the same way as IHG points? Or would I end up spending a ton more money with them, compared to if I stay with IHG and aim for Diamond again?
