Just posting a data point, but I called yesterday to upgrade one of my Gold cards to a 2nd Platinum.
The conversion took about 3 hours. I was able to register for the DIGITAL CREDIT, SAKS, and AIRLINE.
Already put through a charge for AIRLINE AND FLR, so I'll wait to see how long it takes the credits to post. I am hoping we may get additional FHR credits on or after September 18.
I think my anniversary for the GOLD CARD was around October or November, but the rep was very clear that I will be charged a prorated fee of $695.00 around 45 days after the conversion.
I also upgraded my gold to a second plat a few weeks back in the hopes that the new FHR credit will apply fresh regardless of usage of the existing $200 one for the year. Even if it doesn't, it's still worth it for all the credits and whatnot spanning across this and next calendar year and then to downgrade back to gold with next year's AF.
What baffled me is that when I called to upgrade, I was told I had an upgrade offer of 50k points for $2000 spend in 6 months. I thought it must be a mistake but they really did post after I hit the spend.
