No - Hyatt has a much more straightforward program than the convoluted programs-within-a-program at IHG, vis-à-vis InterContinental Ambassador/Royal Ambassador and Kimpton Inner Circle. In simple terms, 10 nights gets you Discoverist status, 30 Explorist, 60 Globalist, 200K USD spend over your lifetime with Hyatt snags you Lifetime Globalist.
I tried to "like" this post, but Flyertalk denied me. Byzantine is the only way to describe IHGs loyalty/rewards program. I'm in it, yet I don't fully understand it. :-)#
Note that if you're going to make a serious run for Globalist (and why wouldn't you, if you're looking to make IHG a back-up for Hyatt), you would be well-served to get the World of Hyatt credit card from Chase, which gets you five elite qualifying nights (EQN) every year, and nets you two EQN for every $5k of spend on the card. Then you could move your stays over to Andaz Singapore...
