You are right – English is not my strong point, which is why I asked ChatGPT to help me phrase my post more clearly.
To clarify: I did not want to request a refund. My goal was to check/change the travel dates and possibly the outbound route. The problem is that the refund form cancelled my ticket immediately without showing me the refund amount or asking for confirmation. That’s why I feel the process is very unfair, especially so far in advance of the travel date.
I completely understand that non-refundable tickets have strict rules, but the way the system is designed leaves passengers with no transparency or second chance to stop the process.
I understood even from your initial post that you didn't want to request a refund, but why did you fill in the form? You argue that the process is intransparent,
which it might be, but it is definitely not misleading. A refund is not a change, and you'll have to take the blame here, not LOT.
Again, if you don't feel confident using the website for whatever reason, best to call in.
EDIT to add:
The website even asks in red font:
Are you sure you want a refund? Check the benefits of changing your booking. Refund according to the fare conditions.
What else do you want LOT to do, send someone around your house to stop you from filling in the form?
