I'm a bit confused by the itinerary described. From some of the posts it sounds like you have both the outbound and return flight on the ticket preceding the extra segments to/from South America. In which case this is not so much a case of skiplagging as a ticket that -- and I'm having trouble figuring out how phrase this that doesn't run afoul of FT restrictions -- is affected by some country-specific regulations about specific surcharges.
