After unexpectedly finding myself in Paris for a night, I opted for a cheaper property near Galeries Lafayette. Booked a deluxe room, which was newish and a decent size. As others have stated, the doors to the balcony do not close properly and lets in a constant draft and significant road noise. Shower pressure is fantastic, but has an open plan which lets water get everywhere. Water temps changed slightly during my shower, but not a major deal.

The staff in the lobby are overwhelmed and service is non-existent. Took several tries to find somebody who could reserve me a taxi to the airport.

At the end of the day, this is a hotel for the mass American tourist. The breakfast offering in the restaurant is typical of what you'd find in a US Marriott or Sheraton - the only difference being a better bread selection and a bland cheese offering. Everything is self service (including coffee and tea) so the staff are around just to clear plates.

I knew what I was getting myself into, but am still trying to convince myself that saving 400 Euros by not staying in a better hotel was the smart choice!
