25 min ago I just ticketed a trip to Taiwan on MUA with $600+30k HNL-GUM available and $600+30k NRT-LAX available. I've paid the Yfare+$1200+60k, but during the booking process I could only select PP seats for these 2 segments.
Now I go into select seats for those 2 segments. J seats appear as $0 but if I click a seat, it takes me to a page that lists the waitlisted segments and these 2 segments say upgrade available.
How do I select my J seats? Do I have to wait some time? Or call?

Not yet SDC window, 41 hours away from my KHH-NRT-LAX. Both segments are now PZ, but now I want to do NRT-DEN-LAX instead of nonstop. KHH-NRT is still PZ2. NRT-DEN is PZ9. App and web say $35 extra but I fear it will mess up the upgrade. I desire the extra PQF, and using LAX PL. I don’t care if DEN-LAX is cramped.
So should I… (1) Pay $35 then wait, then call in if needed? (2) Just call in and maybe pay $25 extra? Or (3) Wait until SDC and change flights? (KHH-NRT J is booked 7/13 and 4 CPU wait list. They should be upgraded the same time as OLCI so I may lose my window seat.)
