United needs to worry about United. United customer service and inflight service is awful lately. Instead of making grand projections of things that are not going to happen like AA dehubbing ORD he needs to worry about fixing his own airline. AA is not going to shrink at all at ORD. This is a sign of dysfunctional management. AA food quality is much better than United. United has a lot of issues such as EWR delays, its soft product and the poor customer service provided by many of its employees that he can worry about instead.
AA is already shrinking at ORD. With the next round of gate allocations, more so.
UA is far from the utopia that Kirby portends, but they are running circles around AA - financially, operationally, and in customer satisfaction.
