I had a point res at the Thompson in Oct. for 4 nights that was cancelled. I am positioning for a cruise so I got proactive and had MHC double
book me the same dates into the Andaz which was the same category 6 as the Thompson. When someone from Hyatt guest services called to tell me
my Thompson res was going poof, and wanted to put me in Dreams ,I requested 17,000 points to compensate for the difference , the Andaz being higher point cost. They put me on a 30 minute hold only to come back and say they would have to talk to a supervisor and someone would get back with me. The globalist line sorted it out the next morning and gave me 17000 difference and an extra 3000 for the inconvenience.
I was looking forward to the architecture and new
Thompson but feel good about the treatment ultimately received.
I read your post and preference for the Centric. The Andaz is recently renovated , getting good reviews and the GM there is very responsive to Globalist requests if that makes a difference to you
