Wondering if I should stay here..or just stick to the Residence Inn by the Wharf.
Difference of 11k points + $49 resort fee - which I'm not sure if there's much use to, as we'll be out most of the day.

Small bonus is that the JW (and Fairfield) has EV charging, while the Residence Inn doesn't.
Presuming you mean the RI in Gravenhurst? It is also a very nice property with a resort feel. Many of the amenities that might be included at the JW (water rentals, boat tours, etc.) are available adjacent to the RI on a "pay-as-you-go" basis. There are also a couple of decent restaurants within walking distance. The choice between the two, if cost is not a factor, is entirely up to your needs in the area. Unless upgraded to a suite at the JW, the rooms are comparable. I've never been overwhelmed with the dining at the JW and as a data point, my last stay there only yielded continental breakfast with an up-charge for full menu. OTOH the Residence Inn breakfast is pretty meh, typical of the brand standard. The RI is in a small quaint town whereas the JW is more isolated, so again - personal preference. They're both good hotels.
