Can Gulf Air check through luggage on AA (separate ticket / PNR)
I have two flight reservations - one on Gulf Air (HYD - BAH - JFK) and another on American (JFK - DFW). Both were purchased directly from respective airlines. I bought the Gulf Air business class for $1200 one way and adding the JFK - DFW leg was doubling the price of the ticket. So I did the right thing and bought the tickets separate.

Now, my plans to travel light has changed to one check in luggage. And I will only have 2 hours at JFK to connect to my domestic flight.

Question is - is it possible to request Gulf Air to check my luggage through on AA as they do have a code share. I will collect baggage at customs and then recheck at JFK. I just do not wish to lose my window to check in baggage if I am delayed at immigration.

Any thoughts?
