Larsa’s – Mediterranean – Skokie
Had lunch with an associate at Larsa’s per his recommendation.
Split an appitizer of Laham Ajeen (Mediterranean Pizza), which is a fresh baked crust topped w/ground beef, diced tomatoes, onions, parsley and spices. This was outstanding! I will go back just for this! One of these would make a good lunch for someone, but seeing as we were two we ate onward.
Hummus was good but in all fairness I had hummus in Israel only a couple weeks before which was the best by far I’ve ever had.
I had the beef shawirma pita, which is seared marinated/seasoned beef strips, w/tomatoes and onions in pita bread w/tahini sauce. Beef was dry, everything else was very fresh. A decent sandwich but nearby Pita Inn and Pita Town do a better shawirma (shoarma).
Associate had the Larsa’s Combo plate: chicken kabob, kifta kebab, beef shawirma w/rice and soup. Chicken was good, Kifta needed more spice, and beef shawirma was again dry.
I can’t wait to go back to try the Laham Ajeen again, GREAT STUFF, I’ll also try their falafel which supposedly is good according to my bud.
Larsa’s is BYOB
