With this policy is it now impossible to SDC at a layover point to get more hours there? I would like to spend half a day in SLC and wondering if I should book the early flights and try to change the connection once I get to SLC or book the later flights and try to get on an earlier flight while hopefully preserving the late connection. Would buying a refundable fare help? The difference in booking a straight-out multi-city fare is $250 more so not worth it.
