I haven’t seen it in action.
According to Waymo, the in-car cameras only activate when you call customer service or if they call you (when a collision is detected, for example).
I’ve been in Waymo cars that are muddy carpets, have food debris and sticky seats, or reek heavily of smoke (tobacco and marijuana). I usually manually call it in when I see those things.
