BA add a lot of surcharges on to their tickets. EI don't.

You see the same with Avios redemptions, the taxes on BA make the redemptions a lot more expensive when doing it via The Club, but finding the same flights in AerClub on rewards.aerlingus.com is usually far cheaper.
