I’ll get to around 30,000-35,000 by end of year with my travel plans regardless.

It wouldn’t seem to matter except that I saw that you receive additional plus points every 3,000 PQPs after 1K qualification.

Does that mean that if I qualify at 28,000 PQP, I will have fewer plus points than someone who comes in at 22,000 PQP+ 60 PQF?

Also… what if someone comes in with their 60th flight at like 25,000 PQP. Do they get the extra 3,000 plus points from 22,000-25,000?

Of course, I may be totally misunderstanding the program as I am largely a novice with UA. I am proud that I’ve figured out how to clear PZ inventory with miles+cash on Polaris to Asia, but I don’t know near as much as most of you.

THANK YOU in advance!

***BUMP ***
Please forgive me in advance for bumping my own post – but I really need to know the answer to this by the end of the week if possible, because if I need to build in few segment runs, time is running out (pun not intended) based on my work-related travel schedule.

Again, I will hit the 28,000 PQP... it's the question of whether hitting it at 22k with PQFs in the mix will allow me a larger share of plus points (perhaps another, what, 80?) at 28,000.

I'm sorry if this is a total newbie question. Only this year have I really bumped up my flying with United (former and now again AA EXP, but United and AA are getting a lot of what used to be Southwest travel since I totally abandoned Southwest).
If you make 1K at 22k PQP -and- have 60 PQF at that threshold you'll get 280 PP, then another 20 at 25k, 20 at 28k. and so on. If you cross 28k PQP and DO NOT have 60 PQP then you will get your 280 PP then, and once you attain 60 PQF you'll get 40 PP added to your account for the 25 and 28k levels.

There is also the caveat on the UA website that once you reach the 1k qualification level any PQP earned from credit card spending won't count towards earning additional PP at the subsequent 3k PQP levels unless the spending is on a legacy Presidential card..
