Good to see that that FHR still only requires 1 night to receive the credit. Definitely far superior to the newly updated CSR Edit. See terms below.

Wow hadn't seen that rumor.

On the plus side:
  • 2x$300 credits are easier to use than monthly coupon nonsense.
  • THC often has some reasonable options for those of us who typically don't pay cash for luxury properties (less so for FHR)
  • $300 is much more useful than the Citi $100 off $500 (useless) much less CSP $50 credits
  • Just used the $200 credit and it worked like a charm - credit appeared a few days later!
On the minus side:
  • My paid travel doesn't fall nicely into semi-annual trips - in fact I often have a hard time just using my 40k Intercon certs which are good for a year.
  • FHR/THC properties are limited so this is far less useful than the $150 Delta hotel credits which cover almost any property I book
  • Hate using retarded Amex travel portal which keeps logging me out, hard to search on maps, etc.
  • Much prefer hotel chain portals where I know I will get my perks
On balance I think this will probably be the most useful coupon credit after the easy $200 airfare credit. But not enough to keep me from cancelling one of our Plat cards.

To be sure Amex FHR/THC is far better than the horrid Chase Edit which only covers super high end properties and has an even worse portal than Amex.
