I have an award ticket, also upgraded with upgrade certificate. if I change the flight voluntarily, could I request the upgrade certificate back ? if I could , I just change the award flight online then call customer care for request?

Try to call and see if they'll switch flights, utilizing the same upgrade certificate. I've had some success with that. Otherwise, cancel and rebook using another upgrade certificate. Then email to request reinstatement of the first certificate.
