Just to emphasise how differently theses are being treated. Today on two Vietnam flights BKK SGN-SIN the instructions were to remove all power packs from carry on luggage and to put them in separate plastic bags in the seat pocket in front of you.
Emirates is doing the same effective October 1st, maybe not in plastic bags though, but they need to sit in the seat pocket and not be turned on or charging anything. Charging batteries on a plane is soon to become another thing of the past.
*And no batteries in checked bags at all, and you can only bring on one charger that is up to 100 watts, and it has to have a label stating so or it gets trashed.
