Looks to me, CX did cut off all those who obtain their miles through CC activity (IE those based in the US), unless being DM. IE, obtain your miles through flying, deposit at CX and you're rewarded with a DM and the wanted award availability.

Not bad, I'd say. I do expect this to be the becoming the norm for more airlines: Reward flying loyalty, instead of the CC sign-up bonus and collecting zillions of miles on non-personal business spending.

Now, CX back to more reasonable pricing and I might fly more CX again (more than every now and then).
And what would then be the value prop for the majority of US cardholders who hold their cards?
