The Sofitel Siem Reap employs a lot of local people, and many from Europe as well. There is great staff loyalty, and I believe that they pay above the local rate. I was told that during Covid most were kept on and the wages were financed by the owners. This was an incredibly good move, as you will see many hotels have closed in the town prior to this border dispute, as the staff left and went elsewhere.
The Raffle's is overpriced IMHO in town and not on Red Hot Rooms.( The Sofitel has been in the wet season for many years ).
I truly think that the Sofitel represents great value for money and offers true understanded luxury - the service and helpfulness from ALL the staff is exemplary. This follows from the Owners and GM down.
We have stayed over 100 nights in the past three years and will hopefully stay many more nights in the future.
