I got really good rates on the redemptions I made and other iHG hotels for the same dates are double what I paid. Assuming the hotel doesn't open in time for my bookings are they still obligated to rebook me at a different IHG hotel for no charge?

And if that's the case do they contact me closer to the time or should I try and speak to IHG directly before the date? (That'll teach me for booking a new hotel, I did think booking rooms six months after the planned opening date would make it safe for me but maybe not!)
