So for 30k spend (loss of 2.625c cash back = 780$) one can get 2 companions on a paid ticket at a reduced price.
I just keep it for the free bags and free food as the benefits are duplicated
But the extra 100$ is worth it for a family - free global entry each year and free food if you travel a lot on AA domestically
