We’ve seen some rumors about the credits (which will always benefit some and not others, but I’ve managed to get my money’s worth), and we’ve seen a tease of a redesign (which based on the last few seconds of the video, it reminds me of the white gold they came out with last year - a muted design that looked awful in my opinion. With the right lighting, it could look darker, but again those last few seconds show something different).

However, the one rumored/tease we haven’t gotten is about spending benefits. Whether that’s insurances/protection (which I hope don’t change) or spending multipliers (which I really hope does change). A credit card should want people to spend on it, and if this is the “largest investment ever into the Platinum card” (or whatever the exact wording was), I would be disappointed if it’s only additional credits, a new look, and an increased fee.

I think they need to offer something (1.5x or 2x everything up until $50k spend, a multiplier of 5x for air and hotel direct up until $50k spend, and unlimited point multiplier on bookings through their platform). We can go back and forth on what makes sense for them as a business or us as consumers, but I’m really hoping for something different.

I also do understand that perhaps they don’t need to change that since maybe enough people use it for spending, but it has seemed to be a consistent issue with the card over the years.
