I clarified this in my post - But “stays” matter for 2 reasons.
1) Promo Dates
2) New Years
New Year’s for example - Let’s say you have a 3 night stay booked 12/28-12/31 all good that would post to 2025. However, let’s say you checked out of your hotel, went to the airport and your flight was delayed overnight. So you just go in the Hyatt app and book a new reservation of just 1 night at the hotel you just checked out of, seems easy enough. Well now you’d get 0 of those nights credited to 2025 and all 4 credited to 2026.
I’ve seen this issue happen multiple times. A family reported that they timed it perfectly to get their end of year nights to retain Globalist, and just added 1 night because of a flight cancellation after they’d already checked out. On 1/1 they even saw their Globalist status updated to 2/2026. Then I believe on 1/4 the nights were corrected in the system, their status then showed Globalist until 2/2025 and all their 60 night Milestones clawed back.
So yes, a “stay” can still make a difference in the World of Hyatt, just good to clarify for people.
