Actually not bad at all, I generally take a taxi from LAX or BUR to my house. I think there are still flat rate deals to downtown LA around $50ish. The rates on Uber vs taxi have been not much different to my home in Los Feliz and the hassle of getting to the rideshare lot is worth a big convenience fee payment (especially with checked bags).

You can check rates on the Curb app or local taxi company apps. But in the end, the convenience wins if you are flying into Tom Bradley or T6/T7/T8 where there are taxi spots, otherwise you need to go to the LAX-It lot to get a taxi too. From T1 easy to walk to LAX-it. At BUR the prices are similar (or better than) rideshares and you just walk to the taxi stand and get in a car vs standing around waiting and trying to coordinate a pickup. YMMV depending on where you are going, of course, I only know about getting home.
