I can see how the location of the hotel would be frustrating if you're here on business and this is your nth time in Copenhagen. Otherwise though, on sunny/mild summer days, walking up and down the riverfront through all the locals having beers / picnics / tanning / swimming was a great experience. We also appreciated the ground floor bar and the seating arrangements spreading around towards the water. They also had a DJ one afternoon but we weren't able to stick around.
The waterfront "deck" to one side of the hotel had a couple of food trucks serving the swimmers. It might be an option for a very casual lunch during the summer.
There is no river though. It is the sea flowing between two islands.....
