The End of Cathay J Redemptions?

Has Cathay ended J redemptions for low-status passengers?

Historically it's sometimes been a challenge to try to find an ideal redemption on Cathay. Sometimes you couldn't find availability on target dates, or perhaps you might need to position inconveniently and depart from another city. Or heaven forbid buy a ticket! But it was never impossible to find redemptions. Until now.

I'm wondering if other low-status flyers are seeing the absolute end to Cathay J redemptions?

I've been curious and checking regularly for the past few weeks. I checked this morning. There is not a single business class redemption seat available to Hong Kong from ORD, LAX, SEA, SFO, DFW, JFK, EWR, or YYZ on any day on any flight over the next year. Not one. It's been like that for weeks. Meanwhile, QRC3288 noted that he can often see abundant availability as a Diamond. Do others with Gold/Silver status see availability?

Oh, and I can see PEY availability. So perhaps they just want to push us low-status people to the back of the plane?

I get how there might be a revenue strategy behind doing something like this. I understand how increase redemption availability for Diamonds (and others?) incents loyalty. But if they are going to completely cut off availability for low-status flyers I wish they'd be open about it and announce it, or at least set the goal posts if you need status to redeem in J.
