What about all the electronics that they export? Seems like a lot of the cheap no-name gadgets they sell in the US wouldn't have any kind of certification or testing, since the goal is to deliver the lowest prices possible, to undercut name brands.
They wouldn't care about the exports... I mean, think about it. Beyond name/reputation of your product, would you (as a company in China for example) really care what happens to some guy in South Africa? It would make sense to ship them the same product so you don't need to have separate assembly lines, but if you can save a couple of bucks here and there, I suspect they wouldn't care.
