1:36 is a reasonable connection for me (GE/Pre, no checked bags), but not for others. Why’d you book it in the first place and/or what changed between now and when you booked? If UA shortened the connection after a schedule change, you can ask to be rebooked onto a different itinerary with a longer connection time if that feels more comfortable.
