I had 2 stays at this property, the first time on 2021 (also at the Angsana in front of this island- now Dawa - during covid times but I forgot to review …) and last time this August

let’s skip the review about 2021 also because the property improved a lot in 4 years

food now is very good, they add a japanese restaurant as well as a pool in the same area, a thai restaurant and there is also a great international menu for lunch and dinner by the bar.

A part from some issues at booking time (both the times) because i alwsys found very very lower rates on third parties websites but in the end they always met the price directly (even lower this year). But this is quite annoying to find like 10k€ directly and 6k€ on Booking.com …..

anyway, the property is very nice, no overwater, just beach villas or garden villas with private pool on the back

also garden villas have a direct beach access by a corridor and 2 private sunbeds on the beach

all the villas have their own beach cabana

villas have also been renovated recently

the island is just 25/30 minutes by speed boat (very comfortable one) from Male and for me this is a big plus

i would say banyan tree is the perfect maldivian resort for my need. Of course on August (both the times i stayed there) the sea is not like in March …but everybody kmows.

there is 30% of the island with very small beach in front of the villas in August but for most of the villas it’s fine. For some villas the water in front is very calm for some other little bit rough

nothing new

prices for F&B are great to be at Maldives. We didn’t choose any plan and we had everything we desired to have for an average of 300$ per day (2 persons, not each) including champagne some days. They sell champagne for 120$ and this is cheap to be at maldives

we had also wedding ceremony this August on the island and it was not only wonderful but also very cheap for what they offer (900$ for ceremony dinner 2 bottles of french champagne and some other gratuities)

and our favorite Balinese girl …Fipit at f&b. She also contributes a lot (togheter with Liù and lynn) to have a wonderful wedding ceremony

by the way, all the staff is very well trained and polite and helpful

i would recomend this resort at all. Just check on many websites the rates before to book ……and then ask them to meet the lowest rate with a 10% discount

points were posted only after claim after 7 days from check out. Maybe it was just a misunderstanding, last time on 2021 were posted just after 2 days
