I see both sides of this - of course if you’re champagne-obsessed you should just buy a bottle of Krug…or onboard just do the rosé and/or explore other wines (incl port) where QR frequently excels.
But at the same time, it’s totally fair for F passengers to critique the wine list (and potentially look at alternatives) when it’s just not good. The leading champagne in F should be impressive and premium.
I think we can all agree Ace of Spades is more bling than quality - and that QR should stop that nonsense 😉
LPGS is a vintage champagne where they typically assemble three exceptional years (10+ old). For example the recent "iteration 26" is 2007, 2008, 2012.
While Armand de Brignac Brut Gold is marketed as cuvee Bling Bling, it is also a top champagne assembling, like LPGS, 3 years. I prefer Krug and even LPGS, but some of my friends don't. Of course, nothing like "Salon" (4 times more expensive), which JAL serves on some flights.
