Got charged well over UK£100 at Edinburgh this January for 8 KG overwight between two of us. Both OWS. Ticket wqas BA so Mea Culpa for checking that BA carry on rules did not apply.
Boarded and got to know adjacent passengers who were bringing on 2 unweighed bags. The only diffference seemed to be they were PC OWS rather than both of us being BA.
