Had a similar issue in July for a HKG-FRA flight that was booked under the old scheme for 2 with SEN companion award. I had to cancel this flight but the companion stayed on the flight. After initiating the cancellation over the phone no refunds (neither miles nor taxes) for about 2 weeks. I then used the Contact form on the website and someone called back and things progress. I was lucky as I received 100% of my miles back yet the SEN companion still travelled on her ticket at 50% of the miles.
