Have an interesting datapoint here that I'm curious to get feedback on. Looking at an IAH-LHR trip in early 2026 that current has Skip the Waitlist available from both Y and R at 140 and 110 PP respectively. The fare difference from Y to R is $280, so question to the group is are 30 plus points worth more or less than $280

FWIW I have had good luck this year and hopefully next as well using my PP on LH First upgrades on work trips to the Middle East
