So I'm in the same situation myself now - AF just hit on my Red. I can upgrade to Silver (as of yesterday, and it's still available to do so online), but they wouldn't PC to the White, and would not waive the AF. Don't want to cancel as it's a $24k credit line - don't need the credit, but it's nice for reporting.

I have 60 days to get reimbursed for the AF if I cancel within that time, but I may do the HUCA dance and see if I can get them to do either the PC or waive the AF like they did for EasternTraveler.
