I travelled with Qatar last week, and there were no special checks as far as i could tell for battery packs. Mine was not an affected model.
On an internal flight taken this weekend, the airline specifically called out all power banks, and said they should not be used, and need to be visible and not in the cabin baggage.
So there appears to be a little more paranoia about the battery packs and their use.
I did travel through Shanghai earlier this year, and they were having a close inspection on many packs.
And here is a top tip, Anker products are very hard to determine the model number and serial number, and in one experience I had it was no longer possible to read the serial number. The tip is to take a good photo and store it on your phone. This may help you speed up through security.
