In a similar situation but got approved immediately. What probably would have helped is that I closed another account one or two years ago without moving over the credit line to another card. They did move some of the credit of the Ascent (former Alaska) card into the new one, which is exactly what they should have done as I will probably close that one after the annual renewal hits.
I imagine moving some credit will do the trick. I think my Ascent card has about a 25k limit on it which I really don’t need. I haven’t received the decline email yet.
