Nowhere better to spend a summer than northern lower Michigan. I'm partial to the Sunrise Side, similar to OP. The Lake Michigan side is wonderful as well, but nowhere near as quiet and untouched as the eastern side.

I wish Hilton had a slightly larger presence on the eastern side of the state between Saginaw and Mackinac Island, but I get that there's nowhere near the demand.
